Beagles at the ballpark: How to take your dog to a baseball game this summer

Take your dog to the ball game, take your dog to the parks!

Buy them a hot dog, no Cracker Jacks.

Grab their leash tight at the crack of the bat.

And it's AROOOOOO! AROOO for the home team

If they don't win it's a shame!

Cuz it's one, two, three strikes you're out at the old ball game!

It's baseball season! Spring training is underway for one of America's grandest past times, and the season will open soon enough.

In the last few years, man's best friend has joined forces with Major League Baseball. Baseball teams have hosted Dog Days and Bark at the Park events across the country. And 2016 is no exception!

The Tampa Bay Rays will host their Dog Day event on Sunday, April 17. That's the 1:10 p.m. game against the Chicago White Sox at Tropicana Field.

While the date has not been formally announced yet, a spokesperson for the Rays confirmed this to me this week.

Details for the event haven't been posted yet. In the past, special Rays dog merchandise was available for sale.

This is not the only event in Major League baseball. GoPetFriendly.com posted a schedule for events  throughout the season.

Here are the games for the month of May. Find the rest of the season on Go Pet Friendly.
That's not the only big news. The Arizona Diamondbacks and PetSmart are teaming up the create the first truly pet-friendly ballpark.

Chase Field will have PetSmart Park and PetSmart Patio, so that pets can come to Diamondbacks games all season long.

PetSmart Patio will have tiered seating for humans and pets of all sizes, along left center field. PetSmart Park will be an indoor-outdoor dog park with air conditioning.

The area will be open for all 13 Sunday home games.

So head out with your pup and check out a baseball game!
