Coloring books are not just for kids anymore, and these are not your kids' coloring books.
For those of us who deal with issues like anxiety or depression, it's sometimes tough to focus on tasks at hand. I find coloring to be a relaxing way to divert my mind from my troubles. It's almost a form of meditation, especially with complicated coloring books like this one. Learn more in this article from Medical Daily.
In "Beagles Go Around the World," the pages are all complex mosaics that take our beagles to locations all over the world, from Sydney, Australia to Venice, Italy.
And they are not all drawn in the same style. The designs of each page are different, so you are working with different concepts to fill out. You don't get bored with it.
Take a look at some of these pages:
You can see this requires a bit of time, a bit of patience and you can get quite creative too. And if you are focusing on coloring in these pages, your minds definitely won't drift to places that could cause you stress.
Also, the paper is good quality and works with any medium -- crayon, marker, colored pencil. And since each page is only printed on one side, you won't have to worry about any bleed-through.
You can get "Beagles Go Around the World" on Amazon.com for $7.95. But you'll be able to enter to win one!
Beagle Freedom Project
We've been big fans of Beagle Freedom Project since we started blogging in 2012. This California-based group rescues research animals (and most dogs used in research are beagles), all over the world.
BFP also advocates for changing the way these animals are used in research. They've advocated for transparency in research records, and they've successfully gotten laws passed in several states to require publicly-funded research labs to put the animals up for adoption once the study is done.
They also have an app you can download call Cruelty Cutter. It can help you shop cruelty-free for products ranging from cosmetics to dog food.
All of this is dependent on private donations. You can help BFP with his mission by donating, or buying their merchandise.
On Giving Tuesday, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matched donations to organizations like Beagle Freedom Project if you donate on Facebook!
OK -- time to enter to win!
Enter this randomizer widget! Tell us where you would take your dog, anywhere in the world, if you could.
