The weather beagle: Griffey helps keep Missouri informed

(Not-so) Little known secret about me: I work at a news station in Orlando.

One time I brought Lulu to work. I thought it'd be cool for Lulu, and I harbored secret (ok, not-so-secret) aspirations of Lulu becoming our "news hound."

After 20 minutes of love from almost everyone at the station, about a minute or two of "AROOOOing" at the afternoon anchor (poor Joel Schipper. Refuse to share your doughnut with a beagle ONE TIME and you're marked for life!), 15 minutes playing with her treat ball and about 30 seconds of lying next to me doing nothing (because God forbid she play with the other toys I brought), Lulu started whining.

Mom, the ball's empty and no one has pet me in 30 seconds!
She was bored. No one was paying attention to her anymore! And this was all fine and good at home, but in a place full of people who must adore her, absolutely not!

Oh well. So my dog has to keep her day job of being cute on this blog.

But in Missouri, there is a beagle who is making a splash on the news. His name is Griffey!

Griffey is meteorologist John Zeigler's beagle at KOLR-10, Ozarks First. That's the CBS affiliate. Griffey made his first appearance as the station's "weatherdog" this past January! You can watch his first appearance on the KOLR website.

Since then, Griffey has gotten his own Facebook page (and he has more fans than Lulu does on her Facebook page -- just sayin'!), his own Griffeycam and now his own Walkcast!

So if you're in the Springfield, Mo. area, be sure to catch Griffey and his dad on the KOLR morning news from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.!
