Almost Wordless Wednesday: Catch the mouse

I got a Frolicat Pounce, thinking it would be good exercise. But so far, all they've done is stare and back away at times. Can't tell if they're 'fraidy pets or just lazy.

What do you think? Do your pets have a toy that gets them spooked at times?

    i use the laser light, for the lazy human. they can run and i will watch. :) even one of my dogs loves the laser.

    We have the toys where you hide food in them - at first Maggie was a little uncertain until she realized there was food involved and then fear went out the window.

      Oh no, food toys are loved in this house, but I don't want to do it too often, just cuz I worry about Lulu gaining weight.

    Funny you should mention this... we found a wind up Stuart Little mouse car with a little Stuart in it. We wound it up and let it go around the house.. Monkey jumped and freaked out. He was hiding... who knew? WOOF!

    Yup, been there done that! Especially with the cats. Mostly they're not scared though, they just don't want to be bothered!

      I think that's kind of Galadriel's thing. She needs to get thoroughly annoyed with the toy to play with it. I don't know that she feels any animal instinct with it.

    That's too funny! Maybe it just doesn't make sense to them? Our dog is a laser light fan, as is the cat. Cheap and easy.

      I have the lasers too. Galadriel doesn't play with it well enough though, IMO. I want her to play more than she will. So Ilike to try some different things.

    Give them some time-they'll love it soon! We play puzzles, and sometimes we get so impatient, we just throw them around. At first it spooked us momentarily, but not anymore!

      Galadriel has a bit of an air about her, IMO, but generally yeah. I couldn't even imagine writing them with the pet talk some people do, I don't know how.
